Young At Heart
Gray hair is a crown of glory; it is gained in a righteous life.
(Proverbs 16:31)

If you were born before Sputnik launched, and if you remember watching Neil Armstrong step onto the moon, you would enjoy our Young At Heart group. If you wanted to imitate Jackie Kennedy’s simple and well fitted style or maybe Brigitte Bardot and her bold...sometimes silly style as your fashion goal, you would enjoy our Young At Heart group. If rap was something the teacher did on your knuckles and groups like The Mama's and the Papa's, Simon and Garfunkel, The Byrds, The Beach Boys, The Kinks, and of course The Beatles were the "in scene", you would enjoy our Young At Heart Group. Finally, if you actually wrote letters in cursive, made it through math in school with no calculator and were taught that bff, bbl, cyl, and dltm are simply consonants in desperate need of buying a vowel, you would enjoy our Young At Heart group.

The Young At Heart group desires to provide Godly fellowship and relationships to those who often face the loneliness that comes with the golden years. Join us as we plan activities, pray for one another, and break the loneliness with a simple call or visit.
If you have any questions about our upcoming activities or the Young At Heart group in general, please feel free to contact Marlena Bauer at 605 957-5641.

“These wrinkles are the hands of time,
The journeys I’ve been on
They’ve seen me through a thousand days,
And ev’ry victory won

These fragile hands,
With exposed bones,
Are not a fearful sight
But rather, they, my faithful partners,
Rocked babies through the night

These eyes are weak,
They see much less,
Than yours they’ve seen much more
They’ve guided me through birth, through death,
Through grief, through hurt, through war

These ears can hear so very little,
Yet they’ve learned to listen much
They perk up not for gossip now,
But for a heart to touch

Those younger often look my way,
With pity looks to give
Yet this old body doesn’t mean I am dying,
But rather, that I have lived”
